By Nii Okai Tetteh

It’s still the agenda Ghana to the world on all fronts – music, sports, fashion, academia, business, tech and the list goes on and on.

Now, we have our very own Ghanaian car making company Kantanka Automobile also doing its best to break new grounds.

Kantanka Automobile obviously operates in Ghana and it has recently opened operations in fellow West African country of Liberia and European country – Norway.

However, in an interview with Kuulpeeps.com, the CEO of the Ghanaian owned automobile company, Kwadwo Safo Jnr disclosed that plans are far advanced in the company’s goal of breaking into the UAE market.

“We are going to be in Dubai in a few months,” the CEO optimistically told Kuulpeeps.com.

Kwadwo Safo Jnr said the company will concentrate its efforts in marketing the sedan body style of the Kantanka models when it finally sets up shop in Dubai.

This means the Kantanka Mensah and the Kantanka Amoanimaah will become the poster vehicles that will be prominently featured in marketing efforts in Dubai.

Kwadwo Safo Jnr, who is currently in Dubai to supervise the company’s expansion into the Middle East, has been holding several meetings with key business individuals in Dubai to hit the ground rolling.

Kantanka Automobile Exports Ghana Made Car To Norway For A High Profile Client

Ghana made cars are going global and we are here for that!

A little birdie told us the exciting news that Kantanka Automobile, Ghana’s own car manufacturing company, has shipped one of its cars to Norway.

Now for this exciting news, we knew we first had to confirm it before we go blabbing about it like we’re doing now…

So we hit up the CEO of Kantanka Automobile, Kwadwo Safo Kantanka JNR to confirm or deny the story.

Well… it is true and according to Kwadwo Safo JNR, the sale went through months ago.

He said “a Kantanka Mensah has been shipped to Norway” for a client who lives in the European country.

When we asked who in Norway had purchased the Made In Ghana vehicle, the CEO did not disclose the identity of the individual but said the client is a high profile person Norway.

Well, before we went to confirm this story, the little birdie had told us that it was the Finance Minister of Norway, Siv Jensen, 50, who had purchased the GHS 130,000 vehicle.

We cannot independently confirm that Siv is the high profile client Kwadwo Safo JNR mentioned to Kuulpeeps.com in our exclusive interview, however, the fact still remains that, Ghana has also started exporting vehicles.. which if you ask us… is a good thing.

The Kantanka Mensah that was shipped to Norway is an automatic salon car which has 4866mm long body and 2775mm long wheelbase. It has an inductive ease open trunk with trunk size 510 L large. The car offers a 2.4cc engine size with a four-wheel independent suspension system.

We’re quite sure that, he/she will enjoy their commute in the Kantanka Mensah.

Kantanka Automobile to open Auto Service Centre in Liberia Soon

Kantanka Automobile Company Limited, the only indigenous automobile manufacturing and assembling company in Ghana owned by one of the most popular inventor, innovator and philanthropic personality in Ghana, Apostle Dr. Ing. Kwadwo Safo Kantanka has performed its first ever expatriate auto service in Liberia.

The automobile company, which is in history as the nation’s first ever privately owned indigenous company is been doing so well according to insider information at their Gomoa-Mpota Assembly Plant. The company has so far shipped two vehicles outside the country.

The automobile company which was founded by Apostle Dr. Ing Kwadwo Safo Kantanka in 2004 and commenced operations in November 2015 had previously been facing challenges sprouting from the both current and past governments as the country has not officially formulated an Automobile Policy to govern the activities of the industry.

The company despite its challenges had been able to sell two of its Kantanka Mensah model to a customer in Norway and the Ex President of Liberia, Mrs Ellen Johnson in 2018. Over the weekend rumors gathered by oilcitytoday crew depicted that the Ex President of Liberia, Mrs Ellen Johnson’sKantanka Mensah bought in 2018 was due for Servicing. So the company flew two of its engineers to service the vehicle in Liberia since the company has not setup a Servicing Centre in the country yet.

The General Manager of the company believes that the plans are underway to setup Auto Service centresin all the country’s where it cars has been sold to. Mr. Francis Kodjo Kudorji told oilcitytodaynews crew that the company is currently in dialogue with the government as the government prepares to roll out official Automobile Policy Guidelines to steer the affairs of all the incoming Automobile manufacturers in the country.

So the company is currently on hold with a lot of its operations and soon the company will also be manufacturing taxi-like cars and electric cars as well.

Let Us Utilize Kantanka Vehicles

Indeed, for so many years, the kantanka conglomerate, established by the founder and leader of the Kristo Asafo Mission of Ghana, Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka, has been at the forefront of innovations that has substantiated the ability of local expertise to respond to local needs.

Kantanka Company is credited with the production of armoured vehicles that meet international standards. The effort of such industrious man is most laudable; it is more satisfying to note that the government has announced plans to lay out a comprehensive plan to support the company to produce more vehicles for the African Market under the African continental free trade agreement.

The Kantanka conglomerates and its leader deserve the commendation of all for weathering the storm and traveling this far in the production of vehicles that are currently in use by a number of institutions and individual.

However, while the effort of the company is commendable and well-appreciated by many there is the need to take a look at some of the products it has produced, when compared to the ease of marketing them, for optimal patronage, especially on the local front.

Kantanka Company should focus on the middle class and produce vehicles that will suit and meet the needs of that class in a manner that will enhance easy patronage and thereby make Kantanka competitive and sustainable.

In an era when Ghanaians are growing accustomed to services such as Uber and Taxify, it should be possible for some of the vehicles to be deployed in that direction.

It is my optimum view that we applaud the innovativeness of Apostle Kwadwo Sarfo and his entourage or group to find innovative ways of making the business sustainable enough to bring the maximum benefit not only to the manufacturers but also the entirety of Ghana and the African continent.

I am extremely pleased by the move by the government to provide the needed support for layout scale production of the Kantanka vehicles not only for Ghana but for the African market.

Let us patronize his products locally so that efforts by government to assist the company can achieve positive consequences.

‘We Purposely Spread HIV/AIDS to Wipe out Blacks in South Africa,’ Apartheid-era Officer Admits

A former member of a South African-based mercenary group revealed in a not-so-shocking confession that he and the group tried to purposely infect Black South Africans with HIV/AIDS in the 1980s and 1990s.

The claims were made known via a new documentary entitled Cold Case Hammarskjöld, which premiered at the Sundance film festival in the US. Jones said he worked as an intelligence officer with the SA Institute for Maritime Research (SAIMR) which orchestrated coups and violence in Africa.

According to The Guardian, Jones claims that SAIMR leader Keith Maxwell had a “racist, apocalyptic obsession with HIV/Aids.”

Maxwell reportedly posed as a doctor while running clinics in poor, mostly Black neighborhoods in the Johannesburg area, which gave him an avenue to conduct his sinister experiments.

“What easier way to get a guinea pig than [when] you live in an apartheid system?” Jones says in the film. “Black people have got no rights, they need medical treatment. There’s a white ‘philanthropist’ coming in and saying, ‘You know, I’ll open up these clinics and I’ll treat you.’ And meantime [he is] actually the wolf in sheep’s clothing.”

Here’s another take on the troubling new information.

The Latest Kantanka Armour Car And Combat Exoskeletons

The race of the first combat-ready exoskeletons just got a bit more crowded. Whilst we expect such developments from developed countries and the big three (U.S., Russia, and China), sometimes we get surprised by developments from where we least expect it. In this case, from the country of Ghana a middle income country in Africa, also a football powerhouse in the continent.

Apostle Safo's Suaye

According to Graphic Online, during the 38th annual Technology Exhibition of the Kantanka Group in Accra last 6 January, the group paraded what looks like to be the largest and perhaps the tallest armoured vehicle in the world and is equipped with a laser rangefinder.  But what is more interesting is a trio of troopers that are wearing what look like to be Iron Man suits.

Latest kantanka Amour Car

These suits, or more  known as exoskeletons, are designed to augment the capabilities of their wearers, allowing them to carry heavier loads and go to longer distances without causing any injury and protect the body. The Kantanka Group “Exoskeletons” show more heavily armoured men as compared to the exoskeleton projects in other countries such as the U.S. wherein the exoskeletons are more contraptions to augment rather than act as armour for the soldiers.

The soldiers in the video from Trends GH can sure walk with the load but they are not as agile as expected for soldiers to go into combat. They raise further questions about the armour qualities and armament as we see rifles slung to their backs. They also have helmets though they may not have HUDs (Heads Up Displays) much less have Jarvis as their personal digital assistant. Apart from the parade, there is not much information about these exoskeletons.

t’ll be interesting to know about their capabilities and if they are as formidable as they look, they can be game changers in the battlefield. But for now, Tony Stark can rest easy.

The armoured vehicle in the background is just massive, like a land battleship. It is cavernous inside that it might be able to squeeze in a platoon of fully armed soldiers. It is fully airconditioned though it does not have a turret so a gunner can safely fire from the inside.

It’s profile may not make it tactically viable when military vehicle designers always opt to go for a lower profile look. It might just be a magnet for RPGs and anti-tank weapons as it can be easily spotted from afar.

Nevertheless, it is interesting to see efforts of countries such as Ghana to develop their own local military industries. Their designs may not meet NATO requirements but they may just be more than enough for their local requirements, which is usually going against insurgents, terrorists, and coup plotters.
