Kantanka Automobile Company Limited was established in 1994 and incorporated as a Limited Liability Company in 2004 to research into the manufacturing of some automobile components and their combination with parts outsourced from other components suppliers to form a Complete Built Unit (CBU). In 1998, the first CBU (Sedan) was manufactured with over 85% of the components locally manufactured including the engine block. By 2006 the first Kantanka SUV (ONANTEFO I) was manufactured followed by ONANTEFO II in 2007. People told us that we are wasting our time because we won't get anywhere. But we pay no attention to them, rather we make sure that we prove them wrong by meeting targets that we set for ourselves.
