The Redevelopment Of The Dome Market

November 5, 2018

Today afternoon, I had an engaging time with the Dome Market Leaders and Traders on issues surrounding the Redevelopment of the Dome Market and matters arising.

I took my time to listen to their concerns and views which mainly bordered on the timing for the redevelopment plan and the proposed prices for the stalls as well as management issues at the market.

As a mother and friend of the traders, I assured them that together with the Municipal Assembly, their request to have the redevelopment started intensively after the Christmas festivities has been accepted and that there will be further engagement on developing a workable roadmap on how the redevelopment will be done with minimal inconvenience to their trading activities, when the work starts. I also informed them, that I will make an appeal and engage government to see how best to construct the market without putting much financial burden on them as traders.

I further assured them that as their Member of Parliament, my doors are always opened to ideas and suggestions in finding ways in which we can make the market better to enhance their trading activities and livelihoods.

I was joined by Mr Joshua Asihene(Municipal Coordinating Director), Mr Nii Noi Anum(Presiding Member), Mr Robert Osei Bonsu(Constituency Chairman and Executives) and Madam Grace Acheampong(Greater Accra Women's Organiser).
